RepForge — Privacy policy

Your data stays with you

RepForge stores routines, manually logged sets, workout history, an active-workout checkpoint and free-workout usage on your devices. You do not create a RepForge account. We do not operate a workout backend, add advertising or include an analytics SDK.

The app does not send your workout or Health data to servers operated by us. Exercise information and symbols are bundled, so viewing exercises does not download media.

Apple Watch and iPhone

WatchConnectivity transfers routines, workout results, any available workout Health metrics and free-workout usage between your paired devices. Your iPhone prepares routines and your Watch runs workouts.

Optional Apple Health access

On Apple Watch, RepForge requests access to heart rate, active energy and its saved workouts. It uses these values for workout metrics and recovery, and requests permission to save completed workouts to Apple Health. Heart rate and energy are recorded only when you also allow RepForge to save workouts to Apple Health. iPhone does not request Health access.

You can decline Health permissions and still log and save sets manually. Missing measurements are omitted. You can change permissions in Apple Health or device privacy settings. Deleting RepForge history does not delete workouts already saved in Apple Health.

Optional workout images, camera, Photos and Instagram

Workout images are composed on your device. Calories and heart rate are excluded by default. You can choose to include them for each image. Nothing is uploaded to RepForge servers, and nothing is shared automatically.

Saving an image asks only for permission to add to Photos, not to read your library. If a photo design is available, choosing a photo uses the system picker and the camera is used only after you choose it and grant permission. RepForge does not retain selected or camera photos between composing sessions. Exports are generated afresh without location, camera make or model, or the original capture date.

You choose whether to save to Photos or share through the system share sheet. Direct Instagram Stories sharing, when available, uses the Instagram URL scheme and a local-only clipboard item that expires after five minutes. RepForge includes no Meta SDK. Instagram and other destinations handle the image you choose to send under their own privacy policies.

Purchases and free workouts

Apple handles the permanent, non-subscription purchase and restoration through StoreKit. We do not receive your payment card details. The app verifies signed purchase information on each device and keeps a separate local record of consumed free workouts.

Five finished workouts with at least one logged set are free, including workouts ended early. Empty cancellations do not consume allowance. Deleting or importing history does not reset it. The allowance is stored on your devices, without a RepForge account.

Backups and iCloud

RepForge does not implement automatic iCloud or CloudKit sync in this version. You can export a manual JSON backup or set results as CSV to Files and choose the storage provider, including iCloud Drive. These exports exclude HealthKit metrics, purchase information and the free-workout ledger.

System device backups and Apple Health synchronization are controlled by your Apple settings. Keep a manual copy of your workout backup before replacing or erasing a device.

Retention and deletion

Data stays on your devices until removed there. Deleting a workout on iPhone keeps a local deletion marker so Watch synchronization does not restore it. Copies may remain on the Watch or in existing exports and backups.

To remove app-managed local copies, remove RepForge from both devices. Delete exported files and any device backups separately where they are stored. Apple Health entries and App Store purchase records are managed separately by Apple.

Support and public pages

Opening a public privacy or support link uses your browser. No workout data is attached to these links. If you contact support, we use the contact details and message you choose to provide to answer your request. Do not send Health data, payment details or a full workout backup.

GitHub Pages hosts the public pages and processes visit information, including IP addresses, for hosting and security. Gmail handles support email, including the address and message you send. GitHub and Google apply their own privacy policies. These providers do not receive workout data automatically from RepForge.

We delete support messages when your request is resolved, or earlier if you ask at thylacine.software@gmail.com. Google's own retention rules also apply.

This policy includes optional workout-image sharing. Its data practices will be reviewed if features change.
